Saved my fish and all natural
I had a high fin synodontis cat suddenly get white fungal fin rot. The tank looked clean, but the filter was full of garbage. I felt terrible… he was off his food and it was attacking his feelers in addition to his fins, eyes and body. I immediately did a water change and threw the filter media out. I knew I had to medicate the tank, but hate using poison to heal a fish (which is basically what most fungicide is). I already knew how miraculous Melafix is for bacterial infections and always have some of that on hand, so I decided to try Pimafix for his fungal infection. I got it overnight and dosed the tank as soon as I got it out of the box. It worked very fast and I never had to worry that it was going to make him sick. He was back to feeling fine and no fungus within a few days and now his spots are all healed again and he feels great. I can't say enough wonderful things about this company and it's plant-based products!!

I did notice that he loved to puck on corners and squeeze behind the sponge ...
This product really worked as described! I am a newbie fish owner, so I have very little experience taking care of my goldfish. However, I noticed that he had some scales fallen out after having him for less than 1 month. I didn't know how he had a few of his scales fallen out since he was in a 30 gallon tank. I have few ornaments in the tank, and there weren't any sharp objects as well. I did notice that he loved to puck on corners and squeeze behind the sponge a lot, so I assumed it may have been from that. So, I went online and started reading up on how to take care of my goldfish and how to help him grow back his scales or prevent more from falling. At this time, I also wasn't sure if he had other diseases as well since this was my first time taking care of a fish. So, I saw and read several reviews on this product using it with the API Melafix where previous customers and experienced fish owners wrote about it helping their fish, as well as, preventing diseases and other ailments. I thought I gave this item a try. It was one of the best products I've bought for my fish. It really helped him healed his scales. I noticed the area where his scales were missing darkened and turned fleshy again. In about 1 week or so, I noticed the area started growing scales already. I am very happy with this item. However, this product is very strong. I have a small, young goldfish in a 30 gallon freshwater tank, with a 50 gallon Aquaclear water filter system, and following the dosages for this product for a 30 gallon tank, I noticed my goldfish acted very agitated to this product. His eyes also started bulging out more. After observing this, I did 25% water change and used half the given dosage. I think this amount was more tolerable to my baby goldfish. I also noticed that my fish scales and fins became silkier after a week of usage. I'm really happy I tried this product out. I would recommend a lower dosage if you have smaller fish. I also recommend to do at least 2 days 25% water change every time you use the product.

Pimafix + Melafix saved my fish!
First, I was surprised at how big this bottle is when I received it. For the same price (actually more) at the pet store you get a much smaller bottle. I used this in conjunction with Melafix when I noticed an orange tetra had lost most of his tail fin and had white spots showing fungus infection along his dorsal fin. Several other fish were showing white spots as well. Per instructions I removed the carbon from my filter and treated the water for a week. Water becomes a bit cloudy but the fish don't seem to notice. After a week I changed half the water and reinserted a new carbon layer into the filter. Water was back to normal within a day or two. As for the results, within a couple of days of adding the Pimafi and Melafix the white spots on all the tetras were gone. By the end of the week the tail fin had already grown back by a couple a few mm. A week later now and it has now grown back by about 2/3 and everyone is healthy. Good stuff!

Smell is fine, kind of refreshing plus I new it was ...
This and Melafix, combined with Medi Koi food at the end, saved my koi. I had fin rot on almost 50 fish, stressed out by unusually hot weather this spring. I never had issues with diseases all these years. My pond is dialed in. But thist came on quick and sudden. I have a 16,000 gal pond, so netting the fish is not an option. I used 64 oz of Melafix and 128oz of Pimafix every 3 or 4 days for a total of 4 treatments each. Water foamed slightly with waterfall and aerator but nothing major. Smell is fine, kind of refreshing plus I new it was there and working. I was able to catch a very sick, 16" fish. I treated him in a small 30 gallon holding tank for 10 minutes following the instructions on the bottle. He was near death but came back out of it and looks good today. I made sure to keep a gallon each on hand and I may add this to the pond every spring now that I'm paranoid.

Safe with Shrimp and Snails
Wrote company before trying. Most everything else sold is toxic for shrimp and snails. Tetra never responded, but reviews show their stuff is toxic. So I used this on my Mollys, with Shrimp, Snails and Plants. All are doing well after a week of use.

It saved my fish!
I bought some fish and of course didn't quarantine them. I wanted to give this a shot moving and shocking them. The tank has both mystery snails and ghost shrimp and wanted a medicine that was also safe for them. Look at the pictures to see the level of infection I was dealing with. I probably caught the fungus early as it was on only one of my glowlight tetras but it had killed another one earlier in the week. Two days after treatment the fuzzy patch was gone! I kept using it (and seachem stressguard) for the full seven days just to be sure.

PimaFix & MelaFix saved the lives of my 9 year old koi.
This product, along with Melafix literally saved the lives of my fish! I have 9 year old, 30" koi that had an outbreak of cold water ich following an exceedingly rainy week. The biofilter outlet was under the water level, and I think that reduction in oxygen (from the drop to water surface which is usually 6-8") created to window of opportunity for the outbreak. I thought at least one was dead, gills swollen, lying on side motionless. This happened over a weekend. I researched and salted my ponds (I have two ponds outside, the other wasn't affected--biofilter return did not get below water level due to extraordinary rains), and then started dosing with the PimaFix and MelaFix. Within 48 hours I noticed remarkable improvement. I continued dosing for 11 days (beyond instructions of 9) since my research indicated that cold water ich has a slower life cycle. I am now keeping these products on hand...I should have been all along. Literally, these two products saved the lives of my treasured fish. I'll never be without them in my pond cabinet again!

Pimafix + Melafix for new fish - a MUST HAVE
I recently bought five fairly large fancy goldfish (3 Yuan Bao Orandas-females, 2 Lionchus-males) that were quite expensive. The breeder quarantined them for 14 days before they were shipped but I guess the shipping stressed them out because there was some cotton growth, tiny white ones, on their tail-fins and base of their tails, and one had it on her body. They got fungal and bacterial infections although their tank in my home is clean, salted (1 tbsp per 5 gallons) and disease free. I quickly ordered Pimafix and Melafix although I still had some for 'just in case' so I wasn't surprised by the pepperminty scent. Also, I didn't want the newly established bacteria culture harmed by harsher medicine. I didn't need to remove any active carbon since I didn't put any in the canister filter or HOB but if you do, remove these first! I just have Algone packets in there to keep water parameters stable and water clear. Algone doesn't remove medicine! Already within two days, the two wen-rich Ranchus were swimming happily sans cotton growth, but I kept them in the tank for a week to be sure before putting them into the healthy 'male' tank. Two Yuan-Bao Orandas had it really bad, though. They were floating nose-down. After three days, the red one is healthy and fine. Mousse, the chocolate one, is still struggling with an internal bacterial infection but NO MORE COTTON GROWTHS! I have four more days to go before finishing this treatment after which I'll put in active carbon into the canister filter and do a 30% water change. Pimafix and Melafix really are must-haves for fancy goldfish keepers and serious aquarists! Always have these on hand and use these first before deciding to go for the more harsher medicine like Jungle (now Tetra) Fungus Clear (although this works wonders for more progressed diseases).

For Certain Things This Is A Great First Defense (IN DEPTH REVIEW)
(WARNING- This is an in depth review of this aquarium product. This review is to help those seriously interested in purchase make an informed buying decision. For a brief summary, see section marked THE BOTTOM LINE) ------------------- I have been keeping fish for quite a few years now. I have a variety of tanks and fish. When it comes to a first defense, I want something natural and that is not going to strip my tank filters of beneficial bacteria. Let's see how Pimafix measures up. WHAT IS PIMAFIX LIKE? Pimafix is a natural extract of a plant in the myrtle family also known as West Indian Bay tree. It is a weak extract which helps nudge the water into a more healthy environment for the fish in certain instances. This comes in a bottle with a measuring cap on top. You use 5ml for every 10 gallons of water, and use daily for seven days, followed by at least 25% water change. The smell is a bit herby and the appearance is clear. WHAT DOES THIS TREAT? This is used primarily for fungal conditions such as fungus growths, mouth and body fungus, and even reddening of the fins and body- but not the kind that is sores- that is better addressed by APIs other product called Melafix which is derived from tea tree. HOW DOES THIS PERFORM? This performs well when used for cottony looking fungal growth. I had a fish with a small patch of cottony growth on a top fin. After a week of use of Pimafix, the growth has gone down by half and none of the other fish have shown signs of it. DOES THIS AFFECT THE FILTER? This does not throw off the biological filter of the tank if used as recommended with water changes every 5 to 7 days. ANY UNUSUAL THINGS? This does create a tremendous foam in a tank so don't panic if that happens to you. It is normal and will go away eventually. SENSITIVITIES I HIGHLY recommend that when you start using Pimafix that you use a smaller dose at first to test for any fish sensitivities. I have used this in all of my freshwater tanks, usually with no problem, including snails and shrimp. HOWEVER, I have had occasional fish which have personal allergic reactions or difficulties with Pimafix or Melafix. It is important that you either remove the sick fish into a hospital tank that you can isolate treatment and observation or at least start with smaller doses to test and see if any fish are allergic. THE BOTTOM LINE For fungal conditions, if you use Pimafix as a first defense, it will help reduce and often reverse cottony looking fungal conditions and general body or fin reddening. For more serious conditions, something a bit more intense might be required. MY RATING I really love Pimafix. It works well if you catch things early in your tanks, and often can go hand in hand with Melafix, depending on your fish.

Happy Little Fishy - No More Fungus!
I adopted my blue betta fish from a friend who bought him from a pet store and could no longer keep him. He came to me with fin rot, clamped fins, and white cottony fungus. I used this along with API Melafix, and within a couple weeks, he was looking much better! The white fungus disappeared and his fins were fuller. Be sure to use the recommended dosage so you don't over or under dose your fish, especially for smaller tanks. The cap is also a measuring cup and has the markings printed into it. I have a Marina 2 gallon tank since my betta lives by himself, and the dosage is around the bottom marking on the cap. This bottle lasted me a long time. Overall, if you're looking to improve your fish's health, this is an easy way to get rid of fungus. It does smell a little and if you don't change the water regularly it will get cloudy, but the smell is reminiscent of tea tree oil - make sure to wash your hands if you spill.
